“Nobody knows anything,” goes William Goldman’s oft-quoted adage about the impossibility of predicting what films are going to succeed. But some people, through experience and reflection, are especially adept at navigating that uncertainty. Ollie Madden is one of those people. In his time as Director of Film4 and Channel 4 Drama, and his previous work for major distributors including Warner Bros and Miramax and indies such as Shine Pictures, he’s honed sharp instincts to great effect. The Favourite, Three Billboards and Brian & Maggie are just a few of the projects he’s backed.
